So Far So Good

Hello!

Let me start by saying that I posted a new entry on my food blog at orionfood.blogspot.com

Currently I am coming to you from Bangalore India, where I have a two week internship. Being here in India, even if only for one day so far, has been a rewarding experience. It is one thing to learn about globalization in books and in classes, but to see it first hand and experience it is a completely different thing. Bangalore itself is an interesting example. Bangalore is the center of the IT industry in India, thus there are lots of companies that come from all over the world to find talent here. Just walking around the streets here you see two different worlds, the iconic auto rickshaws that India is famous for, bustling past ultra modern corporate buildings right next to dusty dilapidated buildings. One of the first things that took me by surprise was that the population of Bangalore is larger than the population of New York City, but then I remembered that the United States only has a total population of about 300 million versus the 1.2 billion in India. In fact, the number of people in India that live below the UN's extreme poverty line, which is less than $1 a day, is equal to the entire population of the United States.

The people I have met so far in India have been so friendly, just yesterday I was walking through one of Bangalore's beautiful parks when a little boy came up to me and very loudly said "hello" and wanted to to shake his hand.

On a lighter note, I find myself with a lot of free time here in India, where I cannot go out and see things, I am thinking of taking up World Of Warcraft again. I have not played WoW for almost five months. anyone is Horde on Balnazar and sees Thorasgard, don't be afraid to say hi!

Summer Plans

Hey everyone. I'm sorry I've been so bad at posting the past month and a half. The entire month of May I was traveling, I went to Iowa twice, first for my oldest cousin's graduation from The University of Iowa. Then I went back a weekend ago for her younger brother's graduation from High School. I was also in California where I got to visit San Francisco, which is one of my favorite places to go to relax. Then i flew down to LA to visit my grandma and one of good friends from Syracuse. I had a lot of fun in LA seeing and doing things that I don't get to do when I go with family. I also went to see Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band in concert on May 12th at the United Center, it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

In current events I have a trip coming up in July to India, which is going to be both awesome and very educational. I will try to keep up with this blog from Bangalore, where I'll be staying while I'm in India. In preparation for India I am reading The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman. This book is very eye opening and I suggest it to everyone. Before i go it India I'll be in Chicago working for my Father on a secret project, but what I can say is that I love my job and the people that I work with.

One of the things I plan on doing this summer is filming more videos, both vlogs and other kinds of videos that I have been unable to do because I did not have the proper equipment, I am going to try and buy a video camera to take to India and to film arround Chicago. Another thing I would like to do is build a computer, but with the economy as it is, I may hold off on that one.

news

Hey everyone, just thought I would check in. First off I would like to thank Blizzard for getting all my stuff back in World of Warcraft after I was hacked.

Now on to an exciting new project I'm working on. Last night I set out to do some night photography which I have not done for a while. While we were enjoying the randomness of the upside down traffic light in Syracuse's Tipp hill neighborhood, I spotted a toilet sitting on someone's lawn that they were throwing out. This sparked an artistic idea in my head, I set up my tripod, and took a few pictures of the toilet. My friend Shawn said we should take it with us so we emptied the water out of it and put it in the back of my car and drove back towards campus. On the way back we saw the most interesting sculpture infront of the MOST museum in Syracuse's Armory Sq. area so we took some pictures of the glowing red circle, then we decided to take the toilet out and talke a picture of the toilet infront of the circle. This is when we came up with the idea of taking the toilet arround the city taking pictures of it in different places. We took it arrount campus but my tripod broke and we were forced to call it a night, but here are some of thew pictures we took that night.

WOW, I finally got to level 80, then I got hacked and lost everthing

Sorry I have not written in a while, classes have been very busy.

I am a huge fan of World of Warcraft . I just recently got my main character to level 80 which took a very long time. Then I joined an amazing guild, Theorem Excel. Just yesterday, a week after getting to 80 my account was hacked, and all of my in-game money and items were stolen. I was left with almost nothing. My main character, Thorasgard a level 80 bloodelf mage had his bags completly emptied as well as all of his gold. My other characters looked like only their gold was stolen but this morning when I went to work on my level 60 Death Knight, i found that his sword and pants had also been taken. I am a very charitable person in game always giving people a few gold when they need it, so I assumed, quite niavely that there were other people like me. So i logged on to my Death Knight, Tyin and asked for help in the trade channel, instead of getting help, or advice like I expected, all I got were rude comments and put-downs. Are people so inseccure with them selves that they need to bully others to feel better about themeselves? That goes for both the people who stole from me and the people who called me a moron and a fraud in the trade chat. Would it kill people to show kindness anymore?

New Developments

Hi everyone, I just signed a petition calling for President Obama to create a position of Secretary of the Arts. I was number 200666 to sign the petition and encourage everyone to sign as well. Here is the link to the petition.

I am about to start the actual screenplay for my movie, but I need character names, just leave your suggestions in the comments, and maybe I'll use them. I need a female lead age 17, a male lead age 20, the conservative aunt, the female classmate that the female lead falls in love with, and and the female lead's parents names. thanks guys
